OUR STORY
Our journey began in 2023 when our founder met Mary naa-Afi Kofi, a dedicated teacher, at a missinary conference in Accra. Through the photos she shared, we saw children learning on the floor or squeezed into broken desks. Yet even in those conditions, their determination to learn was undeniable
That moment stayed with us. Before the desks. Before the classroom transformations. Before hundreds of students were seated… There was a simple gift
Good morning Mom, these are images of the distribution of the school supplies you financed, it was a graceful event and we owe it to you to put these supplies to good use. On behave of my school and the pupils I say (Nawun diam a sugu) meaning may God respond to your supplications. I will add some videos as well, may the good Lord bless you.
Those first photos represent more than a donation. They mark the beginning of a connection across miles and across cultures, rooted in a shared belief that every child deserves to learn with dignity. Inspired by the students’ resilience and the teachers’ commitment, Friends of Fuo 2 Inc. was created to meet these needs, one classroom at a time. What started with books has grown into classrooms, desks, and opportunity for hundreds of students.
Today, Fuo AME Zion Basic School serves 497 students from Nursery through Junior High School. And our work continues beyond the classroom, supporting students as they pursue higher education and expanded opportunities. We never forget this moment, because this is where it all began. Together, we are building brighter futures through education, dignity, and care. Help continue the story.
